The sponsor this week is Sylvia's Corner

Click on the photo below and check out Sylvia's gorgeous cards in her Etsy shop! She has some truly beautiful one of a kind cards!

Here is the prize she is offering to the winner:
The prize is composed of a Stampin'Up! Sale-A-Bration package I put together. There is a Everyday Enchantment Tote, a 12"x12" package of Everyday Enchantment Designer Paper(12pieces), 10 card bases, two of each of these colors, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, and Wisteria Wonder, 20" of Baja Breeze satin pleated ribbon, 2yds each Everyday Enchantment Organdy Ribbon Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral, 10 Everyday Enchantment brads and 10 shaped clear buttons, and the Sale-A-Bration Fresh Vintage stamp set(wood mount, unmounted). This collection is sponsored by Sylvia's corner Etsy shop, where I sell my handmade cards, banners, gift bags and albums. Such a beautiful prize!

Now, for my flashback card, which is actually my very first post when I debuted my blog back in September 2009. The die cut I used was the Sizzix 'sizzilit' embossed heart die cut, which I cut from silver paper. I can't believe I've been blogging almost 3 years now. I had been scrapbooking for about ten years prior to that but really just got started into stamping around the same time I began blogging. I didn't have a lot of die cuts or stamps back then.  I didn't cringe so much when I discovered this was my first use of die cuts on a card, especially when I saw a couple cards I had made after this one!  YIKES!  You will also note that my original blog name was SnapScrap&Dazzle, watermarked on the photo of my card. A lot has changed in my blogging and stamping for me, including my blog name, as you see. I also now have my own craft studio at home bursting full of stamping and crafting supplies!

Enjoy your 'hopping' on the blog hop.  From here, your next stop will be with Amy.  And, in case you got here first, here is the list of designers in order, beginning with the 'home' spot, Flashback Friday:

Nance (Guest Designer): YOU ARE HERE.
So, after enjoying seeing all of our posts through blog hopping, peruse through your own blog archive, find that very first card using a die cut, and play along with us this week at Flashback Fridays. Can't wait to see what everyone finds!

Easter Blessings

I seem to always be last minute with this challenge!  Go figure.  I played around yesterday with these colors and my acrlyic paints and alcohol inks and various different kinds of paper.  It evolved into this flower of plastic, cellophane paper, tissue paper and grunge paper all inked with alcohol inks then sprayed with homemade glimmer mist.  I love the result I got on each of the different papers, which all came out just a little bit different with different sheens to them.  Then, I added the inked and punched eggs.

SPIES:
Stamps: Sentiment digistamp (Create with TLC).  Eggs(Inkadinkadoo).
Paper: white and rapsberry cardstock; cellophane paper; craft plastic; white tissue paper; grunge paper.
Ink: Lavender, turquoise, rapsberry pigment ink (Hampton Arts); Wisteria,Raspberry Wine, Coral Reef glimmer mist (homemade from acrylic paints). alcohol inks. Frosted white pearls.
Extras: Mini oval punch. emboss folder, blossom die (Spellbinders); white flower brad.

Irish Blessing

Wherever you go and whatever you do
May the luck of the Irish be there with you. ~ Irish Toast

Well, St. Paddy's is almost over.  I made this card for our neighbor who is a fellow Irishwoman.  She and her husband give a St. Patrick's Day party every year and fortunately this year, the Hubs got to go with me.  We ate cornbeef and cabbage, salmon, drank some Guinness, listened to Irish music and had lots of lively conversation.  Good time was had by all!

This card  is for the ColourQ Challenge #128 this week.  Love those colors! Decided to make this very simple.  I cut label dies in each color and then just arranged them inside each other to form the circular shape.

SPIES:
Stamps:  Sentiment - Digital (Create with TLC).
Paper:  Cardstock.
Extras:  Label di (Sizzix); sentiment label die (Taylored Expressions); Shamrock embellishment.

Flyin' By -- Flashback Friday

Well, I suppose you could say this is the perfect card for such a beautiful day like today.  It is going to be in the 80s here in NC.  The sun is shining bright and gorgeous!  Can't ask for a more perfect day!

This is my repost card for Flashback Friday Challenge.  I stumbled upon this challenge and decided to play along.  It is probably the simplest of all challenges for all you have to do is 'flashback' in your blog for a past creation to meet the current challenge specs!

It can be quite humbling, going back through one's blog at older creations.  I do have to confess, this card is not that old, but is my first attempt at actual paper piecing.  I don't know why I waited so long to try it.  I am going to practice it more in the near future.

You probably have not seen the last of me for today.  I will be back later with more new posts!

Happy Hump Day!

"F" Is For FRIEND

Keeping it CAS (Clean and Simple) tonight!  I started out with a slightly different idea for this card trying to 'case' the CASE challenge and using a sentiment as the main focus for CAS-ual Fridays and this is what I wound up with, which I really like!  I die cut two hearts, embossed them with a diamond emboss folder and placed them end to end behind the sentiment labels, which gives the effect of a dog bone.  The little dog face was perfect to make a round dog tag.

SPIES:
Stamps:  Sentiment - Digital stamp (TLC Creations).  Dog (Artistic Outpost).
Paper:  White, Tan, Black cardstock.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black for dog; Printer for sentiment.
Extras:  Metal ring; heart die cut (Sizzix); Label die, plain circle die and scallop circle die (Spellbinders);  diamond emboss folder (Quickutz); black/white stripe ribbon.

hello friend

Reposted  just to add award- March 13, 2012---
ColourQ Courtier

Hello Friends!  Hope the hour less of sleep hasn't disrupted too many of your Sundays.  I was so thrilled last week to be part of the Courtier over at ColourQ!  Thanks so much!  So, a great way to begin the week is with another card for ColourQ along withthe sketch from SweetStop today.

The post will be short and sweet as our beloved Tarheels are getting ready to play the ACC Championship game today!  Got my Carolina Blue on and ready for action!  A bittersweet day however, for as soon as the game is over, Ben's spring break will be over and he will return to Chapel Hill.  Yet in just seven short weeks he will be home for the summer.  Can't believe his freshman year is almost finished!

But, I digress, so back to this card. I used my Just Rite stamps again, the Grandma doilies and the chevron background stamp.  I am loving the doilie stamps. There are four of them and they are all interchangeable for different looks.  I can tell I will be using these quite a bit in the future.  And I really loooove that chevron background stamp.  Probably another one I will wear out!

SPIES:
Stamps:  Chevron background and doilies (Just Rite); Sentiment (Hampton Art).
Paper:  White, brown, coral, and pink cardstock.  DP- Fine and Dandy (My Mind's Eye).
Ink:  Staz On Timber Brown and Colorbox Rose pink.
Extras:  Lacey Circles die cut (Spellbinders), Fleur De Lis die cut (Spellbinders), large circle emboss folder (Provocraft); buttons, green/white baker's twine, green paper flowers, clear gems, green ribbon.

Journal Notes

I'm back again today.  I've been working on this project all week.  Have had to put it away and come back to it in between other projects.

This was a lot of fun and something new for me, recovering a journal.  I am a Key Ingredients Subscriber at Taylored Expressions and they just started monthly challenges where you have to use the previous month's kit and be entered for a prize.

The monthly kits are always packed full of goodies.  I've become quite the fan of Taylored Expressions!  February's Kit was Take Note and so the challenge was to create some kind of note card or item.  I also decided to use the sketch at Taylored Expressions sketch challenge #153.  I have a personal journal that I decided to spice up for myself hopefully to inspire me to use it more often.  I keep it at my bedside mostly to jot down creative ideas before going to sleep.  However, I have also begun a "365 Blessings" in it too.

As you see in the photo below of the 'before' shot, it really did need a makeover!
Before

After
Everything I used on this journal is from Taylored Expressions, except for the embossing folders I used on the green left border and the yellow squared on the bottom and the ink was VersaFine vintage sepia.  The stamps are the new Vintage Dreamer from Taylored Expressions and the DP paper was all from the accompanying pad, Lost & Found by My Mind's Eye.

Now I can't wait to write in it and may just have to keep it with me more frequently!  Have a wonderful evening!

ENJOY

Happy Thursday!  I'm in the stampin mode (finally).  This is one of my more shabby chic cards for Pals Paper Arts Challenge.  First, I stamped the written background with versamark and embossed it with clear powder.  Next, sponged olive and kelly green inks all over on top of it.  Then, I stamped the house and bird in olive ink on top following with the roses and leaves in rose ink, overlaying them.  Then, stamped the sentiment.

This was the first time using the rolled flower die cut.  I clipped the edges of the petals and then rolled them down to get a more 3-D look and attached it to paper and silk flowers and a ribbon.

SPIES:
Stamps:  Background (Hero Arts); House (Hampton Arts); Bird (Fiskars); Roses, leaves (Unknown-from the dollar bin).
Paper:  Rose cardstock.  DP - Victoria Garden (Echo Park).
Ink:  Olive, Kelly green, Rose, Versamark, clear emboss powder.
Extras:  Leaf die cut (Taylored Expressions); Rolled flower die (My Favorite Things); rose paper flowers, green ribbon, white pearl gems.

Sorry this is so short and sweet, but off to a doctor's appointment and lunch with my son before back to the studio!

A Wonderful Friend

Boy is it late!  I've been closed up in my studio just stamping away today!  I couldn't wait to use some of my new stamps.  This card is for the sketch challenge at Eat, Sleep, Stamp and the Moxie Fab Cure For the Winter Blues Challenge.  I used a doily stamp from Just Rite Stamps and stamped it in midnight blue on white cardstock.  For the border around the doily, I stamped a background image then cut the border shape using  the Fleur De Lis die from Spellbinders.

To give a little more depth to the card, I dry embossed the DP and then ran sandpaper over it so the texture would pop more.  I applied a scallop border behind the DP, punched holes in it and in the smaller circle of the doily and added a metal flower for detail.

SPIES:
Stamps:  Grandma's Doilie (JustRiteStamp); Motif on fleur de lis dies (Taylored Expressions); Sentiment (Anna Griffin).
Paper:  White and navy cardstock.  DP-not sure found it in my bin.
Ink:  Staz On Midnight Blue.
Extras: Fleur De Lis die (Spellbinders); Label die (Spellbinders); emboss folder (Provocraft); scallop border die (Taylored Expressions); holepunch; sandblock; metal white flower brad.
