You Are Amazing

Another quick card today --

I made my heart from a panel I made from my Dylusions spray inks.  I adhered it to a banner of white then stamped my sentiment overtop both.  The sentiment is from Stamplorations.  I love the grungy artsy look of these sentiments!  I added an embossed border an emboss border folder by Darice.  For some reason those enamel dots look orange but they are dark pink in actuality along with lime green and white.

A Crafty Throwback #1

Happy Thursday!

In the spirit of Throwback Thursdays, I thought I'd start one of my own, a "Crafty" Throwback Thursday per say, to revisit some of my older projects/cards from earlier years and my first craft blog, Snap, Scrap & Dazzle.

Check out mine below:

SUPPLIES: STAMPS: Bike (TE); Flowers (Paper Sweeties); Sentiment (Jillibeans). PAPER: White cardbase (Core'dinations 110lb), Tan (Recollections). INK: Versafine black; Angel Pink & Nautical Blue (Memento); Squeezed Lemondade Distress pen (Tim Holtz); Begonia Pink Copics marker. EXTRAS: Bike die (TE); Flower die (Paper Sweeties); Brick emboss folder (Sizzix); Vine die (Die-Versions); Diagonal stripe die (Reverse Confetti).

I took a pretty literal viewpoint from the inspiration photo.  I got the partial brick effect by using a hammer on the emboss folder, lightly tapping in random spaces (or not so random), I pinpointed where I wanted some of the bricks.

Thankful 4 You Everday

Well it's 1:30 am EST, which makes it Monday, Sept. 21st
and that means
Today's the 1st day of Fall!

Happy Fall Y'all!

I can say that because I live in the south and was also born and raised in WV where they said that too!  ;)

I'd say I timed posting this card pretty well!  I gave it a fall theme using leaf stamps from Stamplorations.  I wanted them to have a watercolor efffect so I used my distress inks and spritzed the inked stamps with a little water before stamping. I love how they came out!  I'm going to repeat that a few more times with some other cards.

STAMPS: Leaves (Stamplorations); Sentiment (Jilli Bean). PAPER: White cardbase (Core'dinations); Candy Corn (Bazzill); DP - Favorite Things (Heidi Swapp). INK: Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick, Mustard Seed, Shabby Shutters & Mowed Lawn (Tim Holtz Distressed Inks); Versafine black. EXTRAS: Black baker's twine; orange button; apple green sequins.

Give Thanks

I'm baaaack!  Yes, it's late and I'm still blogging!  Trying to get all of my cards posted and DT duties completed before I go to bed.  Tomorrow or I guess now TODAY, I take my mom to get her stitches out.  So it will be a very busy and tiring day for both of us.

I wanted to play with some of my new stamps from Reverse Confetti and so I am playing along with their September sketch challenge with some of their new release stamps!

Watercolor Musings

I have another card for the Muse Challenge tonight.  I made this one first a couple days ago and while I like how it came out, it just didn't transfer from brain to paper how I envisioned.

I decided to watercolor the background and then stamp over with just black inked outlined stamps.  I really do like the final look!

SUPPLIES: STAMPS: Asian Serenity (by Raisin Boat ) Small swirls (Simon Says); PAPER: White cardbase (Core'dinations 110lb); Licorice Black & Cotton Candy (Bazzill); Watercolor paper. Gold Metallic (DCWV); Vellum. INK: Watercolor paints (Michaels); Versafine. EXTRAS: Banner die (Reverse Confetti); Butterfly die (Memory Box); Pink pearls; gold drops (Robin's Nest).

Hello Musings

Good Sunday Evening!

I've got many posts tonight.  It's been a quiet but very productive Sunday for me!  I'm still at my mom's caring for her after her hip surgery.  She's progressing well, slowly but surely!  I brought lots of my stamp supplies so I could have a little creative therapy here and there. Today I completed four cards and bits and pieces of several others done!  A major record for me for a very long time. I guess you could say today was a massive therapy session!  LOL

So, first card is for The Muse Card Challenge.  My fellow DT at The Challenge, Michele has the "muse" card this week and it's so gorgeous!  I knew I had to play.

Here is my card:

Supplies: STAMPS - Pink Daisies & leaves (Cute Pie by Taylored Expressions/TE); Roses & Dandelion flowers (Embracing Grace by TE); Large flower (Hero Arts); PAPER -Black licorice cardbase (Bazzill); White cardstock (Neenah); Gold (DCWV); Vellum; INK-Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Sky (SU); Angel Pink  and Rose Red (Memento); EXTRAS: Hello die (Memory Box); Butterfly Die (Impression Obsession); Leaf die, daisy die (TE); Scalloped circle die (Sizzix Framelit); Gold balls (Robin's Nest); gold enamel dots.

The Challenge has new inspiration for you today-
COLOR!

Challenge Winner/Guest Designer  Allison Kostiuk

Supplies: White cardbase(Core'dinations 110lb); Patterned Paper(Recollections); Rose stamp (Lifestyle Stamps); Leaves (Thankful by Sweet & Sassy); Beautiful sentiment(Stamplorations); You die (Paper Smooches). Leaf die (Sweey & Sassy); Scallop rectangle die (WPlus9); Postage stamp die (Simon Says); Copics for rose; Indigo Lagoon Ink(Stampin' Up); Chocolate (Memento); Crystal Stickles.

As soon as I saw this week's inspiration and colors, I knew I wanted to use my big ole rose stamp!  It's BIG!  Here I cut part of it off to go off the edge of the inner layer. I colored the rose with Copics and left it kind of splotchy for a distressed/watercolor look.

Party Time! - The Challenge #41

Hello fellow crafty souls!

My Card:
Supplies: Stamps - Sentiment-(Party Time-Stamplorations); hat and horn blower-(Party Mates-Stamplorations); Bird image - (Small Birds - Stamplorations); Balloon die cuts-(Taylored Expressions); Memento Black Tuxedo Ink; Copics & Spectrum Noir for coloring of bird, hat and blower. Paper-white card base (Coord'nations 110lb); Navy cardstock (Bazzill); Black cardstock (Bazzill); Patterned paper - My Mind's Eye & Recollections;

Wow!  I cannot believe it's been two whole months since I posted a card let alone made one!  It's been one crazy hectic summer!  It was a blessing that Lesley decided for the Design Team to take a break for summer.  I hope everyone else enjoyed their summer.  I hardly knew it existed (except for the daggone heat and humidity)! Long story short: Took Mom to SC to visit my brother and to look at houses for her to buy/move. She thought she pulled a muscle in her leg. Three weeks later take her back to WV with the plan to start packing her up and put her house on the market. She also saw her doc and found that she had advanced osteoarthritis in her hip (hurt leg) so needs a new hip! Two weeks later, I go back to NC til her surgery is scheduled.  Two weeks ago, came back to WV for her surgery, which was this past Wednesday, Sept. 2nd.  She's home and on the long recovery road.  I'm still in WV for several weeks til she is recovered to be on own. WHEW!

I thought I was going to have to bow out of the first couple months back from my DT duties but the Hubs packed up my stamp supplies to bring with me!  Now, while Mom rests between her walking therapy, I can get some creative therapy!  So glad!

I made my card for The Hubs.  Tomorrow, Sept. 8th is his 50th birthday!  Unfortunately I'm not home to celebrate with him due to caring for my mom postsurgery.  I did send him snail mail cards.  Unfortunately only one was handmade, this one.  The others were snarky silly old age cards befitting a middle aged geezer like him!  LOL  I have to tease him because I'm three years older than him --- BUT he has the grey hair, not me!  LOL  I also made it using Michigan colors because he grew up in Flint, Michigan and is a big Michigan and Detroit Lions fan.  Happy Birthday, Hubs! 🎈💙💛

Now come play along with us and share your awesome take on our sketch!
