Happy Thanksgiving

Good evening!  Another card today for a couple fall challenges ---

I used Paper Sweeties pumpkins, window die cut from Taylored Expressions and I believe the cat is from Taylored Expressions too.  The sentiment is a very old fall stamp set.

My card ---

SUPPLIES: STAMPS-Witch hat (Inkadinkadoo); Spider (Pink Paislee); "be" sentiment is part of another stamp in my $1 bin stash. PAPER: Black cardstock (Bazzill); White cardstock (Core'dinations); Florescent orange cardstock. INK: Neon Orange ink (Hero Arts); Black (Versafine). EXTRAS: You die (Simon Says); Stitched rectangle die (Lil Inkers Designs).

I chose a very, very old stamp from back in 2009/10--- I think it is from Inkadinkadoo.  The spider stamp is also pretty old, from a Pink Paislee set.  Maybe one of my very first stamps.  I originally wanted to do black stamped hats and then paper piece the orange one, but then I spied this old witch hat stamp and decided to just go with all stamping.  I used my Misti and masking to create the group of hats.  I so loove that Misti!

My card - -

I had several ideas mulling around in my head and this is how it transformed onto paper.  I started with a nice yellow leaf patterned paper from my stash. Added some kraft paper using a scallop die from WPlus9.  Then, I made my own main panel -the bright leafy panel.  I stamped the leaves with Versamark on watercolor paper then embossed them with white emboss powder. Then, I used red, a golden yellow and dark orange watercolor paints randomly to color in the leaves and their background and mounted it on red cardstock (wax lips color).  The leaf dies are Ellen Hutson, the banner die is Lil' Inker Designs, label die is Paper Sweeties and the sentiment is Reverse Confetti.  I also used a stitched rectangle die from Lil' Inker Designs on my back background.  Finished the whole thing off with kraft colored candy dots from Stampin' Up.

So let's see what you make!

Pink Faith-Crafty TBT #2

Crafty TBT #2

I missed last week's TBT, and a little late this week.  Too much going on.  I go back to my home in NC in five days so have been busy helping my mom do some cleaning out before I go.  I've been with her for almost 7 weeks, I came a week before her surgery.  Hard to believe, it's gone by pretty fast and doesn't seem like I've been gone from home that long. Course with FaceTime and texting I've talked to the Hubs and my youngest pretty much daily.

Anyway, I digress.  Here is one of my first cards I made and posted on my first blog (see post here).  It was posted on Oct. 8, 2009, six years ago.  Wow now THAT seems like a lifetime ago!

Boo x3

My 2nd Halloween card for this season ---

An easy quick card.  I'm liking quick and easy more and more these days!  I thought this trio of stitched ghost dies from Lil' Inkers Designs were perfect for the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches this week. I also worked with the colors from the challenge at TGIF Challenge, #tgifc23
I used my Tim Holtz paint blog stencil and sponged on Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Tangerine for some background splash of color.  Then used the "boo" die from SU.

Sweet Boy

Morning again!  A couple more posts this morning for a couple other challenges.

This card I made for one of my oldest (we've been friends for 45 years) and bestest friend's daughter who is expecting her 2nd child, a boy, on October 23rd (my birthday no less)!

The challenge at The Card Concept was perfect for this card as the baby's room is decorated in a woodland theme.  I only have a small set of woodland animal stamps from Recollections.  I may have to invest in another set soon.  This set has no fox, which I really wanted to use for this card. Oh well, another time.

I started off on one idea for this card but then found my onsesie die from My Favorite Things and so it evolved into what you see.  So, I went with a free collage layout so I could use all three onesies.  I should have photographed the inside as it has a sentiment from MFT as well.  The "boy" sentiment on the front is also MFT.  The "sweet" die is Paper Sweeties.

Here is my card:

I used a new die from Poppy Stamps, a mum floral die.  I just love it!  I cut it three times to get all three colors I used.  I actually used the orange cardstock I cut the flower from to inlay the brown flower and then carefully glued all the tiny yellow and orange flower petals inside the outline. The patterned paper I had in my stash and thought it went perfectly with the flower petals.  The sentiments is from Lil' Inker Designs that I stamped in Rich Cocoa on a scalloped circle die.  I also used a stitched circle die and regular circle die.  I made my card pretty clean to make the flower center stage.  I now have two other mum dies cut to make one or two more cards.

Hope you join us this week.  Can't wait to see all the creative ways everyone uses our sketch!

GEEEK!

Happy World Cardmaking Day!  It's winding down in a few hours but I've been busy at my craft table working on cards.  So thought I'd take a break and post at least one for the day.  Some of the others are for my DT posts so I can't share them just yet.

But here is a fun and goofy one I did --

I saw the "Geek" challenge at City Crafter and thought I'd do a fun geeky card in the spirit of Halloween.  The glasses are a die from Paper Smooches and the letters are from an alphabet die from Lil' Inkers Designs I believe.  I used a small dot stamp from my Ellen Hutson Bokeh Dot stamp set and stamped eyes with Versamark and then embossed them with glow-in-the-dark emboss powder.  I took a photo in the dark, it didn't come out very well, but I'm sharing it anyway so you see they do glow in the dark.  I wish I had glow in the dark paper and I would have cut out the work in it so it could glow too.  I don't have any alpha stamps with me either right now or I had done that.  That would have made it a little more fun in the dark.  But I like the effect the emboss powder gives the card in light too!

So I forgot to add the pic of the card in the dark!  Here it is --

I actually texted it to my kids last night saying "I see you!  You see me?"  I'm sure they just rolled their eyes!  LOL   To me it looks like a cat in the dark.

BFF & Coffee - 2015 Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Well once again I almost ran out of time to play in the Coffee Lovers Bloghop.  For the past six weeks I've been caring for my mom after she had hip surgery.  While I did manage to bring some stamping supplies with me, the time to stamp has been a little sparse.

But I did manage to get one card in tonight.  During the Spring hop, I was a lucky random winner and won six coffee stamp sets from Unity Stamps.  I had every intention of making about a dozen coffee cards for this hop, but, well, you know how best intentions go sometimes.  The stamp I used on this card is Unity Stamp's "Best Friend".

I don't really regret not playing more this week because if my mom didn't wind up having surgery, I wouldn't have had the past six weeks of time to spend with her seeing as we are normally about 400 miles apart - her in WV and me in central NC.  And while I know she would have rather we been able to spend this time in a much more pleasant way and a much less painful one for her, I know she has enjoyed me being with her.

So, on to my card--

I also had to design a new watermark tonight as my wonderful Mac laptop battery is way too old and my outlet cord chose this time to go kaput also. So, while I wait for a new cord to come (thankgoodness for Amazon Prime and 1 day delivery) I have to post this from my moms desktop.

Hopefully my design emulates a coffee wrap because that's what I was going for!
