Thanks - The Challenge #75

Happy Memorial Day!

It's a National holiday in the U.S.
to remember
all of our fallen military
who have fought for our country.

THANK YOU!

Today is also the
5th Monday of the month
so
we have a
Wild Card Sketch Challenge
at
The Challenge!

This will be The Challenge's last challenge before summer.  We have decided to take the summer off.  We will be back in September!  Until then, enjoy this week's Wild Card sketch and play along!

Check out all the Design Team's awesome projects for added inspiration!

The Challenge #74 - Funny Farm Greetings!

Happy Monday!

Wow can you believe that May is almost over?
Summer is creeping around the corner!

Today we have a fabulous challenge
at
that will make you think of
summer down on the farm!

#74 Masculine Inspiration Challenge

Use the above photo as inspiration for a masculine card!

You could use the tractor itself, the color, the metal, the background field, lots of inspiration there!

Check out the Design Team's projects for more inspiration:

Weekly Guest Designer - Wanda Cullen from Cullen-ary Creations

I don't have any farm or tractor stamps, alas.  Hmmmmm. However, I do have some farm animal stamps from Your Next Stamp that I used and my inspiration came from the red and metal of the tractor and "farmy" things to inspire my card --

As I stated, I used the farm animal stamps from Your Next Stamp.  The sentiment and the "snort' are also Your Next Stamp and coordinate with the farm animal set.  I fussy cut the animals and placed them inside a photo die (Taylored Expressions) I cut from pattern paper.  The wonky circle in the top corner behind the photo die is the inside of a wreath die from WPlus9.  It looked like a saw blade to me so I cute one from silver paper along with the curly stitched dies, also from Your Next Stamp.  I thought these would resembled barbed wire.  For my background I chose red woodgrain paper that reminded me of the side of a barn.

For Following Challenges:
I used the sketch from Fusion for layout inspiration --

Now it's your turn to get inky and share your masculine cards inspired by our inspirational photo this week!  You might be one of our next Weekly Guest Designers!  YAY!

Challenge Blessings!

Sending Birthday Wishes - The Challenge #73

Happy Tuesday!

I'm soooo late with my DT post for
this week's
The Challenge!

This week is an inspiration challenge and just look at all those scrumptious items in the photo to pull out all kinds of creativity! Just fabulous!  Lesley is THE BOSS at finding the best challenge themes and inspiration!

Last week was crazy with Mother's Day, trying to make cards, caring for my grandpup, and then my washer went beserk for two days all before going away to a stamp show to help my friend, Debbie, owner of Paper Sweeties, promote and sell her stamp line.  And then, of course, when I come home to finish, Pic Monkey photo editing chooses to give me grief by not saving my photos. Ugh!  Looks like I go back to Pixlr or find another one now.

Anyway, here is my card, FINALLY ---

The background is a hexagon background stamp I stamped in pear tart.  Then I cut the wreath die (WPlus9).  The apple stamp and die are from the sets Homegrown by Paper Sweeties and the lady bug and sentiment from Enchanted Garden by SugarPea Designs stamps made for SOA. I colored the apple and ladybug with Copics.

Now go check out the rest of the Design Team's beautiful projects:

I got into a groove making my DT cards and so I have two cards today to share ---

I partially stenciled my background and then used the suit stamp from the new set, Best Dad, along with the dress, which I masked off, and the sentiment from Faith, Hope, Love.  The heart borders are from the new Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts set.  I cut them out of white and black card stock The banner is the Hello Friend stamp set and Be Happy Sweet Cuts.  I added some sparkly sequins from the Tuti Fruiti pack.

I made this black and white for the 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge.

For Following Challenge:

My second card I sponged the sky then used patterned paper for the grass.  I used the two little kids from the Planner Series stamp set, Checklist and the little dog from the Planner Series Appointments stamp set and colored them with Copics.  The clouds are from Let's Go to the Beach stamps and coordinating sweet cuts and the sun is from Island Time stamp set and coordinating sweet cuts.  The sentiment is from the new Best Dad stamp set.

I followed the sketch at Sunday Stamps for this card.

For Following Challenges:

Our monthly Inspiration Challenge is still going on until the end of May so be sure and check it out as well and play along.  You might get a sweet $25 gift certificate to the Paper Sweeties Boutique and be one of our future guest designers!

Paper Sweeties Plan Your Life Series - May 2016!

It's Friday the 13th!

So get some good mojo by
checking out
this month's Planner Series
at
Paper Sweeties!

Check out all the
PS Planner Team's planners:

Debbie Marcinkiewicz – Paper Sweeties
Jeri Thomas
Nancy Salkeld (You are HERE!)

I am using the Paper Sweeties Digital Planner these days, being a newbie to all things planner.  This month's new planner stamps are Checklist.  It has a cute little note stamp and two adorable little dolls with signs.  You could use these in a notes section or you could even use them as a birthday reminder for a specific person and write their name on the sign. Too cute!

If you don't have a planner and want to get in on the trend, you can purchase the Paper Sweeties planner calendar, like I have, available in the PS Boutique.
